Luxembourg fourth globally for depth of green finance

Publié le jeudi 03 novembre 2022

Luxembourg has gained three places in the latest Global Green Finance Index (GGFI 10), now occupying fourth place, behind London, Amsterdam and New York. Ranked second in the EU, the Grand Duchy has improved its overall performance. The report, published by Z/Yen highlights the importance of the country’s activities in green finance and the related staff specialisation.

Additionally, more than 70% of respondents to the qualitative questionnaire of the index believe that Luxembourg’s financial centre will further strengthen its offer in green finance in the coming years.

For Nicolas Mackel, CEO of Luxembourg for Finance, this result “confirms the constant progress made Luxembourg’s financial sector to integrate green and sustainable finance into the heart of our activities. More than ever, finance must assume a key role in the development of innovative solutions that enable the transition to a net-zero economy.”
